Women in Tourism - Northern Branch held their first inaugural meeting at the Boathouse in Launceston 26 October 2010. The Minister for Tourism at that time, the Hon. Michelle O’Byrne, was responsible for the official launch and was the guest speaker. The committee members responsible for the formation of the Northern Branch were Karen Phillips and Kathy McConnell with Karen still maintaining a committee role today.
Today we meet around every second month and offer our members the opportunity to visit new and interesting venues along with guest speakers who are relevant within our industry. These meetings provide excellent networking opportunities and the chance to share ideas and discuss common interests with the Tourism industry.
