Before coming to Australia, Diana worked as the National Project Manager for Teach A Man To Fish (TAMTF), a British NGO with worldwide operations, creating small school business, led and managed by students. Prior to this she worked over 12 years in administration and management, at the Food and Agriculture Organisation for the United Nations (FAOUN), as the Regional Coordinator of Business Management for FAOUN and also ran her own business promoting local products.

Diana holds a Bachelor of Business and Industrial Administration and a Master's degree in Project Management both from The Central American Technical University (UNITEC), a Statement of Attainment in Introduction to Interpreting and Translation (English < > Spanish) from RMIT and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from TasTAFE.

Before moving here, she had had experience in tourism, project management, and teaching. Darya's first job in Tasmania was in tourism. For the last two years, Darya has been working with MRC Tas on various employment and educational projects. Darya has been supporting women from refugee and migrant backgrounds in their aspirational careers.

Kirsten Singleton is Project Manager for the Working Together Project in which Habiba Mohammad Mohsin is a participant. During the pandemic, Zafira stayed open as Kirsten and Habiba did deliveries all over Hobart to keep it going.

Kirsten will share her experiences establishing and running a social enterprise, Zafira Fine Foods, for 5 years and more recently with the Working Together project. This project is focused on supporting people from the Hazara refugee community into pathways to work and training. Images showing inclusive tourism examples

Diversity and inclusion are not just acts of empathy, they are the most human and effective ways to make your company stand out.

Fundacion ONCE and World Tourism Organisation

Virtual Cuppa | Inclusive tourism

Think your tourism operation can’t be more inclusive?

Tune in to our July Virtual Cuppa because our panel says it can!

Join us and our Disability Voices Tasmania panelists, Tamar Cordover, Ana Pike and Fiona Strahan for an insightful discussion.

What it’s about. The start of a conversation and learning more about inclusive tourism and the small, easy changes you can start with to make a difference. Asking awkward questions and getting straightforward answers without embarrassment.

What it’s NOT about. Compliance or just wheelchairs - our panelists aren’t regulators, they’re women with lived experience.

Simple changes can have big impacts on your customers, on your business, and your own sense of connection as you see the changes you make bring relief, ease of access and even joy to others.

Inclusive tourism is a priority in the T21 Visitor Economy Action Plan. Logical really when it’s a substantial, largely untapped market and people with disabilities travel at the same rate as everyone else. And, they often bring a support crew too!

Disability Voices Tasmania  (DVT) has been working to develop  a greater understanding of how operators and their businesses can become more inclusive and provide some tools to help them do that.

Join us and our DVT Panel, led Tamar Cordover with Ana Pike and Christine Wright, for an insightful discussion.

Got awkward questions? Yes, there can be some uncomfortable questions around this topic but straightforward answers are available. Simply add them to your booking email and we’ll include them in the discussion.

Date: Thursday 29 July
Time:
11am
Cost: Free

REGISTER NOW: email cuppa@withtas.com  and include any questions or topics you'd like to discuss/learn more about.

Participants capped at 15 (or so) to allow for plenty of two-way dialogue.

Networking | Drinks and Canapés at the new Vibe Hotel

Join us for drinks, canapés and networking in the stunning Bruny Room of the new Vibe Hotel Hobart.

Hear about Vibe’s Tasmanian owners and their journey of hotel development and weaving the Tasmanian brand into the property. Side note – one of the owners sounds like superwoman - she worked as a lawyer whilst working on the development, designing the entire interior herself and rolling out all of her own artwork throughout the hotel!

Date: Thursday 17 June
Time: 5 - 6.30pm
Venue: Vibe Hotel - 36 Argyle Street, Hobart
Cost: $20 for WITH members | $25 for non-with members

Price includes four canapés. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.
