Throughout this year, these three young women have been impressive with their resilience, work ethic and enthusiasm for our industry. They've all been keen to make the most of the networking and mentor opportunities that come with the Scholarship and our Committee has really enjoyed that aspect as well. The WITH Tas AGM on the 17th September marked our 11th birthday which was certainly cause for celebration, particularly this year. However, the biggest delight was being able to reconnect face to face and have more spontaneous and lively conversations than those done over technology. It was great to welcome amongst our attendees the three 2020 Scholarship recipients - Lily Pursell, Caitlin Foale and Thais Goncalves Soulas - and our 2019 recipient Joy Varahakaporn. Each year Women in Tourism and Hospitality Tasmania (WITH Tas) invests in and connects to the next generation of women in our industry through a scholarship program. This provides financial and practical support to a young woman studying tourism/hospitality subjects who aspires to pursue a career in the industry. This year the $1,000 scholarship has been awarded to Lily Pursell, a year 12 student studying VET subjects at Guilford Young College.
