AGM 2020 – celebration, re-connection and a new committee

Celebrating 11 years of WITH Tas

The WITH Tas AGM on the 17th September marked our 11th birthday which was certainly cause for celebration, particularly this year. However, the biggest delight was being able to reconnect face to face and have more spontaneous and lively conversations than those done over technology.

It was great to welcome amongst our attendees the three 2020 Scholarship recipients - Lily Pursell, Caitlin Foale and Thais Goncalves Soulas - and our 2019 recipient Joy Varahakaporn.

This AGM also marked the update of our Constitution to reflect how our ethos and governance standards have evolved over the last 11 years. An important inclusion was the addition of a Student Committee Member position designed to offer the opportunity to gain experience, confidence and develop skills that will assist in career development.

Following the meeting formalities and to recognise the journey thrust upon us over the recent months, Robyn Moore entranced us with stories of lockdown, re-focusing, revelations and tacking, rather than pivotting, in her wonderfully animated style. We all walked away with some insights of our own and smiles on our faces. Thanks Robyn!

After cutting and enjoying the luscious chocolate cake crafted by Committee Member Tania Thompson, dinner was enjoyed in Hadley's Atrium and many more connections were made. (Yes, dessert with its whiskey-infused strawberries came first!)
